Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Newhook has matched a franchise milestone that had stood for nearly three decades. Newhook became the first Montreal player since April 1997 to score multiple goals in consecutive NHL playoff games, a feat previously accomplished by Mark Recchi. The achievement was highlighted by Sportsnet Stats on X.

In the third game of the quarterfinal series on the night of May 11, the Canadiens defeated the Buffalo Sabres 6-2 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Newhook scored twice, while Cole Caufield, Zachary Bolduc, Juraj Slafkovsky, and Kirby Dach also found the net. Russian forward Ivan Demidov recorded an assist.
